How We Define Ourselves

When you judge another, you do not define them: you define yourself.   -Anonymous

Poverty is Not a Crime

Poverty is not a crime or a sin

Be Small

Clutched Hands

"When a man dies, he carries in his clutched hands only that which he has given away." -Jean-Jacques Russeau

Laudable Exchange

What a great laudable exchange:
to leave the things of time for those of eternity,
to choose the things of heaven for the goods of earth,
to receive the hundred-fold in place of one,

and to possess a blessed and eternal life.

Compassionate Bible

Read the Bible compassionately and make peace.

More Blessed

It is more blessed to be merciful than to be right.

A Harsh and Dreadful Thing

"Compared to love in dreams, love in action is a harsh and dreadful thing." -Fyodor Dostoevsky

Changing the World

If you want to change the world, you will hurt those around you.

Really consider if the sacrifices you make them pay are worth it.

Controlling the Uncontrollable

We all have a serious self-control problem in our lives.

We all have some kind of addiction.

We need to recognize it as a problem and try to keep it from hurting others.

Long Term Relationships

Great relationships happen with patience and forgiveness
               (on both sides).

If you cut off the people who irritate you,  you will be led to loneliness and misery.

Sacrifice

Nothing great and good ever happens without self sacrifice:

whether the surrender of personal goals for the sake of the community,

to the daily sacrifices of a parent in raising their child.
